Lifelong peace activitist, Phyllis Rodin, travelled from Northampton, Massachusetts to speak to the CPJ of her experiences, which included working with farmworkers in the 1930s; witnessing the effects of nuclear war at Hiroshima after World War II; crossing the nation in 1986 to advocate for peace and nuclear disarmament; talking with Cindy Sheehan in 2005; and steadfastly demonstrating for her position.  Ms. Rodin noted that in her 92 years of life, there has not been a day without war or average people "affected by The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" because of the greed and misdeeds of those in power.   Her goal is to see future generations able to take advantage of all that a peaceful, just world has to offer.

The meeting began with Diane Clark, Judi-Lutz Woods, Catherine McAllister and Duncan McAllister sharing their observations from the Rally to End the War in Iraq that was held in Washington DC in September.  Ms. Rodin said that she was proud of their efforts and all the CPJ members who recognize the influence of the actions of a small group of committed people.
