The Dunkirk-Fredonia Center for Peace and Justice will next meet on Thursday September 9 at 7:30 pm at Growing with Music/Thrifty Reader Bookstore (Barlow's Mill), located at 369 West Main St., Fredonia. (It is one mile from downtown Fredonia, past Farrell's Chrysler Car Dealership. Traveling from Fredonia to Brocton, it is on the right side of West Main.) All are welcome. CPJ will again conduct its Annual Nicaraguan Appeal to help the needy in the Central American nation. This effort is done in conjunction with Ann Marie Zon, a Catholic social worker from East Amherst, who has spent three decades assisting Nicaraguans. This year, drop-off of items begins on Monday July 5 and continues through the second and third weeks of July, with resumption the first week of August. Items are to be brought to the garage of Rodney and Joan Houck, 146 Central Ave., Fredonia. Please call the Houcks at 673-9258 before coming. (The Houcks will be away the 4th week of July.) Items needed are:

"War Is Not the Answer" signs from the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) are available from Caitlin O'Reilly.
